An update from our practice on COVID-19

Dear Clients,

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have revised our clinic protocols for the safety of our clients and staff members- our health and well being is of paramount importance.

We would like to limit the number of clients in the reception are to a maximum of two at all times so safe distancing measures can be achieved.

We have shifted appointments and surgical admits/discharges to a “curbside” service which allows us to continue to see patients but limits the number of people in the clinic.

When you arrive for your pets appointment, please call the clinic and one of our team members will come out and escort your pet from your vehicle to their exam or procedure. Communication between client and veterinarian will be via cell phone whenever possible. Special circumstances will be addressed.

We are still available for medication and food sales/refills. Please call the clinic ahead of time to order and pay for items with a credit card over the phone if possible. Call the clinic upon your arrival and the items will be delivered to your vehicle for you.

Currently our hours of operation have not changed but please check our website and Facebook page often to receive updates.

We realize these changes are new to everyone so we are asking for client understanding at this time. Wait times may be potentially longer but we will do our very best to serve you and your pets to the best of our abilities.

Keeping Our Hospital Safe During COVID-19 Outbreak

Safety of our staff members and clients is a priority at Gateway Companion Animal Clinic and it is important that our hospital remains open to serve the needs of our pet community.

We are taking added precautions to keep our clients and employees safe.
Precautions we have implemented in our clinic:

  • Disinfecting exam rooms and common reception area after clients leave
  • Janitorial services after hours
  • Reduced number of staff working in the clinic
  • Reduced volume of clients coming in
  • Increased hand sanitizers around hospital and client area for use by staff and clients
  • Social distancing in exam rooms with staff and clients
  • Requesting clients to wait in car or go home while diagnostics are happening at the clinic
  • Having clients who are healthy and do not have symptoms sanitize their hands

We are doing our part as best we can during these times and are staying updated accordingly, as new information continues to come out.

Our Staff is kindly asking the following to clients over the phone:

If you have traveled outside of the country in the last two weeks or are experiencing any flu-like symptoms and your pet doesn’t require immediate medical attention, call us and we will guide you appropriately to seek care for your pet.
